I have just purchased a new Kenwood Mixer as my 12 year old Prospero gave up the ghost after a small soup incident. through Kenwood World.
I received the item, from Parcelforce, box containing the item and wrapped in grey bag.
Accepted delivery and opened the grey bag. To discover the box is damaged quite badly. Pictures taken.
Now I thought why should I accept this expensive piece of equipment in this condition - Customers have rights don't they?
So I called customer service, listening to 3.5 minutes of the repeated message about Covid-19! We all know that people are working from home, do we need to hear it 3x on a message before we even get to speak to anyone?
A lady answered my call, and at first was very polite and accommodating listening to my query, quite simple, I wanted the item collected and another sent in better condition. She then popped off and spoke to a manager, came back and informed me that they would not take the item back and re-send one in a better condition, according to her I accepted delivery and that's my fault. So I need to ask Kenwood, you expect your customers to make Parcelforce stand at my door in this current situation and open the item before I accept delivery? So not only have I a potentially damaged item that she was more than happy to wait on the call whilst I opened and tested but there is nothing I can do until I start baking and the machine doesn't work, so then I have to call again and wait for them to collect and resend.. I did hang up on the lady in pure frustration as clearly reading from a sheet - no personal care these days.
I would expect more from a British Company especially in their customer service department, so for that they get 2 stars - 1 seemed a bit harsh. Review will be updated if when I use this machine it is faulty, hopefully someone other than this lady will answer.
Review also left on Kenwood.co.uk - looking at the reviews 82% bad they really need to sort that out.

Customer service team is a complete joke!!
Have been trying to get in contact for weeks regarding the customer dis-service team regarding the issues I have been having with my K-Mixer.
Spoke to a manager called Dan who was absolutely disgusting on the telephone, telling me I should not be using my K-Mixer anymore than a few times a week as it is not designed for extensive use. Have you ever heard so much tripe?
Asked to speak to his manager and this was declined!
Never had so many issues with a mixer in all my life, let's hope someone from their CEO team sees this and contacts me soon.

Brought a k-mix stand mixer 3 months…

Brought a k-mix stand mixer 3 months ago for it to break on me after 2 months. Then to be told that i have to pay for repairs because i use it within my part time cake business. Absolutely appalling, people shouldn’t be forced to pay for things that aren’t their fault regardless of the situation.
Would not recommend to anyone.

Kenwood Blender Blend-X-TRACT 3-IN-1

Kenwood Blender X-TRACT 3-in-1 - really bad quality. Half the time it did not fire up, the plastic chipped at the bottom on one jug then eventually the base stopped working altogether on any of the attachments. Had it just over a year. Possibly the worst purchase I have ever made.

Why have Kenwood stopped making certain…

Why have Kenwood stopped making certain attachments to their chef which are now being sold at 4 times the price on ebay.
Also I bought an a992 new at an inflated price and after one use one sieve has gone rusty. At least I have the other one which looks rust proof why arent both like this. Even if I was fooled and it was not new it should not go rusty.

Having read so many poor comments about…

Having read so many poor comments about the company, this morning when my KMix base bowl rim broke and I had to put a call in to their customer service team, I did so expecting a fight. I was delighted that I was fortunate enough to have my call answered by Eric, who’s patience has no bounds and provided amazing customer service in a friendly profession and genuinely care if manner. I could not find the info he needed on the machine but it was there, I just could not see it. He was patient and I could almost here the cogs working as he continued to try to find a way of helping me. I finally managed to find the code needed and he resolved my problem with no argument and gave me options as to what could be done. I love my mixer and with Eric’s help I will be able to continue to use it without worry that it could break again. He even registered it for me which I had forgotten to do. Bravo Eric and Bravo Kenwood. Thank you.

Kenwood rust bucket dishwasher

I have a Kenwood dishwasher, it is a few years old now but would never expect the shelves to rust out as they have! The motor part is fine but the shelves are absolutely awful never had a dishwasher with this problem before. Tried to get help from them but I was just passed round in circles, useless! Staff all friendly but not one of them knew what to do or who could help

Kenwood dishwasher KDW60x10 bought in…

Kenwood dishwasher KDW60x10 bought in Curry’s . Top and bottom baskets got rusty very fast , I replaced them. A few years later it is impossible to buy upper basket spares anywhere. They are discontinued. Dishwasher works fine but I can’t use it. Why is it that lower baskets are still on sale but upper are discontinued . There is also no advise about which other model’s part might be suitable. It feels like their dishwasher is not meant to last 6 years

Awful

Awful. Awful. Awful. Had a food processor bowl that broke inside the Sooper Dooper 5 year warranty period and hoped to have it replaced. After 4 hours trying to contact these people ("we'd love to talk to you", my eyeball...) by webchat/phone/everything else, I could not get through to anybody and had to buy the thing.
Why bother pretending to customers that you offer a warranty, and then don't bother to answer the phone? It's just dishonest. I suppose that tired old excuse, Coronavirus, will be used. You are fooling no-one..
Incidentally, the reason I gave them 1 star was because there wasn't a no star option.

Customer service lacking, ruined by repair agents.

I had a mixer that broke, the first time I contacted them (webchat) it appeared to be quite efficient and my mixer was collected for repair. The problems started when the mixer was returned. It was damaged and put together incorrectly. Kenwood themselves didn't carry out this repair (they use Stafford's as a repair agent) but they were so unhelpful when I contacted them about it. It was arranged to return the mixer for a second time, and then it was gone for 2-3 weeks and I had no updates, despite me chasing it up numerous times. Eventually they offered me a replacement mixer, again this took ages and lots of chasing on my side. I emailed the Kenwood customer service manager to complain TWICE and didn't receive any response at all. When I mentioned it on webchat I was told "our manager Shelly is in a meeting and will respond to you later" but never did.
Overall the fault lays with Stafford's, I have no idea why Kenwood use them, it's ruining their reputation. But the customer service received from Kenwood was awful, and it's ridiculous to close your phone lines (during covid) when you can't get through to anybody on webchat.
